Can I bring my pet?

Dogs on a leash are permitted in ungroomed areas of our parks.  Pets are not allowed on soccer or softball fields or in picnic shelters.  Service dogs must be on a leash and can accompany their owner in most park areas.  Please clean up after your pet.  Gloves are provided at Foundation Park.

Where can I rent a park shelter?

Shelter houses at Foundation Park, Freedom Park, Municipal Park and Volunteer Park may be rented for a fee.  Complete the reservation application form, and drop it off in person during regular business hours or mail it along with the rental fee to Pataskala City Hall, 621 W. Broad Street, Pataskala, OH 43062.  For more information, call 740-927-2021.

Where can I take my family fishing?

Small ponds stocked with fish are offered at Citizens Park, Foundation Park and Liberty Park.  Fishing from the shoreline with a rod and reel is permitted at each of these parks.  Anglers age 16 and over are required to have an Ohio fishing license issued by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.  Check our events page for more information about the Passport to Fishing program and other fishing events.  

Where can I take a walk?

Scenic Conaway’s Trail at Foundation Park winds for nearly a mile through mature forest with hill climbs and streamside stretches.   The 1.4-mile perimeter trail at Foundation Park skirts the park’s baseball diamonds, soccer fields, playgrounds and woodlands. This trail will be improved with a packed gravel surface in summer 2021.

Short paved loop trails are offered at Karr Park and Liberty Park.  The trail at Liberty Park leads to a woodland path to the nature playground.  In summer 2021, Karr Park’s trail will also feature fitness stations with exercise equipment for an outdoor workout.  

Where are playgrounds offered?

Citizens Park, Foundation Park, Freedom Park, Karr Park and Municipal Park all offer traditional playground sets that may include slides, swings, climbing features and more.  The nature-themed playground at Liberty Park is located in a scenic woodland area.  A gaga pit is located next to one of the playground areas at Foundation Park.

Where can I play soccer?

Foundation Park is the home of Pataskala Parks and Recreation’s Youth Soccer Program, which offers spring and fall league play for children from preschool through high school.  Foundation Park offers ten mini and regulation size soccer fields.  Additional soccer fields are located at Freedom Park, Municipal Park and Volunteer Park.  Park visitors may use the fields for casual play when not in use by leagues for practices, games or tournaments.   

Where can I play softball?

Ball diamonds are located at Foundation Park, Municipal Park and Volunteer Park.  Pataskala Parks and Recreation offers an adult coed softball league with games and tournaments slated for spring, summer and fall.  Local youth leagues also use these diamonds for games and practices.   Park visitors may use the diamonds for casual play when not in use by leagues for practices, games or tournaments. 

Where can I play basketball?

Paved and striped outdoor basketball courts are located at Foundation Park, Municipal Park and Volunteer Park.  Courts are first come first served.  Please be considerate of others wishing to use the courts.  If all the courts are in use, invite newcomers for a pick-up game!

Where can I play volleyball?

Sand volleyball courts are offered at Municipal Park and Karr Park.  Courts are first come first served.  If others are wishing to use the courts, please be considerate of time.  Better yet, invite them to join in!
